An Insiders Guide to the Perfect Day in Berlin

With @itsmeromy

For a short trip in Berlin I would stay in Mitte around "Rosenthaler Platz“ if you want to be close by cool coffee shops or restaurants and get the urban vibe, there are many more hotels are located around Friedrichstraße or Kurfürstendamm, also more "posh" places, there are many cute coffee houses and every week a new one is coming.

My favourites for pancakes & eggs: "A NEVER ENDING LOVE STORY", Kanstr. 25, near Savignyplatz, Asian coffee places: "Soi & Co." Café (for matcha cake), Linienstr. / "Puffle Bees", Brunnenstr. (for best egg drop & waffles)

Healthy and clean café "Daluma" Weinbergsweg / or "Superfoods & Organics" Schlüterstr.

Newest place "Acid" Rosenthaler Str. for the tastiest cinnamons rolls

Must See: Brandenburger Tor, Museumsinsel, Checkpoint Charlie, Reichstag - if there‘s time,  go to Potsdam (fastest train is about 30 minutes) for (castle) Schloss Sanssouci and the Dutch quarter

During summer: Tiergarten, Café am neuen See (like a "Biergarten") or Strandbad Wannsee (for beach feeling)

Shopping: Neue Schönhauser Str. or Kurfürstendamm (designer), don’t miss the KaDeWe (a bit like Selfridges), independent brands are located in Kreuzberg or Friedrichshain

Oranienstr. or Boxhagener Platz

Always keep in mind - shops are closed on Sundays

Biggest flea market & street food: Mauerpark (every Sunday)

My Perfect day:

• having coffee and breakfast at one of my favourite places, followed by shopping or sun bathing in Strandbad Wannsee on hot summer days

Romy : I was born and raised in Potsdam but moved to Berlin at the age of 16, where I studied politics & organisation but working as management assistant in property development, I met my husband at the age of 18, became mum of a boy in my early 20s, I enjoy having an almost grown up son while still feeling young and having more time for myself and husband.
